New committee of Rotary Club formed in Silchar

SILCHAR, July 4: The Rotary Club of Silchar has made a place of distinction among all the clubs. Its vision and mission is well known and it needs no repetition. Rank and file of the club believes in the adage ‘life is action and not contemplation’ and with that goal everyone is committed to work for the welfare of society. This message has been once again conveyed by the new committee of Silchar Rotary Club formed for 2016-17 on Sunday.

As the new president Pradip Kumar Patwa said, “The very high tradition and motif of the Club can never be diluted as each and every member is committed to serve the society and the people around.” The outgoing president Benulal Barman handing over the baton to Pradip Kumar Patwa reminded the members of their holistic approach to humanitarian cause. District Governor Rinku Guha Niyogi who was the special-guest highly praised the Silchar Rotary Club for achieving the distinct position.

Cachar DC S Viswathan speaking as chief-guest was also appreciative of the noble works of the Club. It was commendable to note the contributions made by the members in socio-economic are for betterment of people in general. Rotary district covers entire north east, Sikkim and larger part of West Bengal. On this occasion, the mouthpiece of the Club ‘Balaka’ was released. New members taken in during the installation ceremony included Dr. Arun Paul Choudhury, Dr. Binod Singhi and Deepak Bajaj. Partha Sarathi th was taken in as new secretary. Rotarian Nirmalendu Kar Purkayastha was also present as special guest.
