New extension building of Don Bosco High School iugurated

Donkamokam, Sept 5: The Provincial of Guwahati Province (Panbazaar), Rev Fr VM Thomas, in presence of Rev Fr  Benny Alex of Guwahati Province, Fr Lucas Marak, Parish priest Sojong, Fr Gabriel Momin, Parish priest of Satgaon Parish, Fr Jos Toppo, Fr Francis Xavier Lakra and Rev Sister Superior Helen Barla, on Tuesday iugurated the new extension building of Don Bosco High School at Satgaon in West Karbi Anglong.

Later in the function, Rev Fr VM Thomas Provincial said, “Hard work, sweat, dedication and prayer are necessary to become a successful person.” He also assured the congregation to help the area whenever needed. “It was long-standing demand for additiol building here and now we are fulfilling it. In future Higher Secondary courses of all streams will be started,” he further said.

Father Provincial expressed deep anguish that people of the area were sending their children for cheap labour in cities and towns across the country. “There is no future there,” he said and added, “For better opportunity here Don Bosco University has come up in Tapesia Soiguli, Guwahati where even over 500 students from other countries have enrolled.” Coinciding with Teachers’ Day, a beautiful cultural programme was also held where different tribal communities showcased their traditiol culture.
