New political party launched

Doomdooma, Jan 16: Dilip Moran, former BJP vice-president, who contested in the last Lakhimpur parliamentary by-election on being denied party ticket, launched a new regiol political party called Assam Dristi Party.

He announced the launch of the new political party at a press meet convened at Doomdooma Marwari Panchayati Bhaban on Monday. The objective of the new regiol party will be to create awareness among the aborigil people of Assam and the Northeast to keep a close watch on the political activities for all-round development of Assam. For this, a five-member convener committee comprising Dilip Moran as president and Abdul Hamid Khan, Kartik Bhumij, Bulbul Barthakur, Rajita Moran as members, has been formed.

A full-fledged State committee will be formed within a month. It will have altogether 35 different committees for students, peasants, women and minorities to look after the organizatiol work. The eye will be the party symbol.

Dilip Moran, who was highly critical of Prime Minister rendra Modi and Chief Minister Sarbanda Sonowal said the party would take part in all the elections right from panchayat, civic bodies to MP and MLA elections. At the same time, Moran said that it would demand deportation of all illegal Bangladeshis as per Assam Accord and would fight for according ST status to the six ethnic groups.
