SIVASAGAR/JOYSAGAR, Dec 16: Prof. Dilip Buragohain, former Principal of Gargaon College was elected president while Vinowa Taye was elected the secretary of Sivasagar Zila Xahitya Xabha for the 2018-20 session. The results of the Xabha elections held in the month of November were declared in a meeting of Rangpur Xahitya Xabha by Suresh Bora, president of the election committee. The meeting, presided over by Dr. Anil Saikia, called upon the members to contribute voluntarily to the corpus fund of Axam Xahitya Xabha as it needed nearly Rs. 70 lakh for staff salary and the recurring expenditure. Advocate Diganta Mangal Neog and advocate Himanshu Bailung conducted the elections as per Axam Xahitya Xabha norms.
