New road iugurated at Lumdorbar

SHILLONG, Oct 22: The Monitoring-cum-Implementation Committee (MCIC), in collaboration with the Dorbar Shnong of Upper Lumparing and Lower Lumparing in Shillong, organised the iugural function of the newly-constructed PWD road at Lumdorbar on Saturday.

 The road construction scheme was initiated and recommended by local MLA Sanbor Shullai.

President of Seng Kynthei Upper Lumparing has appreciated and lauded the initiative and efforts of Shullai for bringing developmental schemes from various departments, thereby “fulfilling the developmental aspirations” of the people of greater Lumparing and 19th South Shillong constituency .

The function was presided over by a presidium comprising Rangbah Shnong (headman) of Upper Lumparing HB Wahlang, secretary of Dorbar Shnong Upper Lumparing Doncaster Shabong and headman of Lower Lumparing Petimon Khongsngi, among others.

The event was also attended by various members of Dorbar Shnong, Upper and Lower Lumparing, members of Seng Kynthei Upper and Lower Lumparing, local NGOs representatives and prominent residents of Greater Lumparing.

MCIC secretary Anthony Marwein too appreciated and lauded the South Shillong MLA for his endeavour in getting developmental schemes approved and sanctioned by the State government.

In his speech, Shullai urged the members of the MCIC to monitor all the projects in collaboration with officials of various departments to ensure that these are executed as per specification laid down by the departments concerned, for speedy implementation of all the projects and ensure quality work for the benefit, welfare and interest of the people of the constituency.
