JOYSAGAR, Oct 16: The newly constructed office building of the Sivasagar Municipal Board at ward No-7, Amolapatty of the town was formally iugurated on Sunday by Jorhat LS MP Kamakhaya Prasad Tasa. The three-storey new building has been constructed at around Rs 2.50 crore, said MP Tasa in his iugural speech. He also added that Sivasagar Municipal Board was a 100-year old public office and employees of the board had faced many problems in the previous office as it was very small and inconvenient for smooth functioning of day-to-day work. SMB serves about 4.5 lakh historic Sivasagar and as time passed there was need to build a spacious and modern building for SMB. The function was presided over by SMB chairperson Mridusmita Sinha. She hoped that with the iuguration of this new building, a new zeal could be seen among the SMB workers and employees.
