NF Railway GM Jaggi meets Manipur Chief Minister

GUWAHATI, Dec 26: HK Jaggi, Geral Mager, Northeast Frontier Railway, called on the Chief Minister of Manipur Okram Ibobi Singh at Imphal on December 25, a press release said.

Jaggi had been on a three days visit to Manipur to review and inspect the ongoing Jiribam-Tupul-Imphal new rail line project. During the meeting, he apprised the Chief Minister about the progress of the project and confirmed that Jiribam to Dholakhal (12 Km) will be commissioned by March 31, 2016 and Dholakhal to Tupul (72 Km) by March 31, 2017. He has further apprised the CM that construction work has already started between Tupul to Imphal (27 Km).  While Jaggi thanked the Chief Minister for the continuous support rendered by the State Government to the Railway for this tiol project, Singha assured the General Mager of his Government’s continued help and cooperation for smooth progress of the project.

The Chief Minister also requested for further extension of the Rail network in Manipur from Imphal to Sepati and Churachandpur.

GM Jaggi assured that the matter would be taken up with the Railway Ministry.
