NFR’s Tinsukia Division's earning rises by 6.44 pc

TINSUKIA, May 19: Tinsukia division showed improved performance during last fincial year 2014-15 in respect of earning and loadings, stated a press release.

During the year 2014-15, Tinsukia division earned Rs.491.86 crores as against of Rs.462.01 crores of the fincial year 2013-14.

The increase in earnings was due to increase in passenger earnings as well as in goods earnings. On passenger earnings front, Rs. 170.82 crores was earned in 2014-15 as against Rs.154.25 crores in 2013-14 and on goods earning front, Rs.295.27 crores was earned in 2014-15 as against Rs.271.96 crores in 201314.

The increase in loading was mainly due to increase loading in coal from Ledo coal filed and partly fertilizer from BVFCL, mrup and POL from NRL and Tinsukia IOCL siding.

In 2014-15, 632 thousand tons of coal was loaded as against 480 thousand tons in 2013-14.  In 2014-15, 434 thousand tines of fertilizer was loaded and 370 thousand tones of POL was loaded with total loading of 1.59 million tones as against 1.44 million tons in 2013-14.

It is targeted to surpass last year’s target of loading and in earnings.
