NFRSA look too hot for Dibrugarh
By our Sports reporter
GUWAHATI, May 13: Rode on all round performance NFRSA almost ensured a berth in the fil of the Nuruddin Inter District Cricket tourment by taking massive 173 runs first innings lead on day one of the 2nd semi fil held at the Barsapara ground here today. NFRSA, lead by Arup Das (5-15) in the bowling, restricted Dibrugarh’s 1st innings to paltry 57. Arup produced a fiery spell this morning and picked up five wickets giving away just 15 runs during his 7 overs spell and the right handed pacer got good support from veteran pace bowler Mrigen Talukdar who bagged 3-17. Dibrugarh were in trouble from the very beginning of their innings when they lost first wicket without opening their account. They lost the next seven wickets on the score of 0, 1, 5, 5, 5, 9 and 10. Little resistance from the Mukhter Hussain (34, 33B, 4x2, 6x2), filly helped the visitors to take the score above fifty. NFRSA didn’t face any trouble to bat on the same surface and they reached 230/4 in their first innings at stumps on day I. Parviz Aziz ((85, 75B, 4x11, 6x4)) played a responsible knock while Manoj Malo (69, 145B, 4x6, 6x10) and Utpal Medhi (49, 53B, 4x3, 6x3) remained not out at stumps.
