GUWAHATI, March 22: NFRSA registered a il biting win over Bajali in the iugural match of the 7th Veteran Inter District and Inter Institutiol T20 Cricket tourment held at the Nehru stadium here today. NFRSA won the game by a single run.
NFRSA, studded with few former state players, are considered as one of the title contender in this competition. But Bajali gave a good fight to them. Chasing 147 win the visitors took the match to last over where they required 8 runs and almost reached the target before Bajali lost last wicket on 145. Nitul Sarma, who bagged man of the match title, played a solid knock of 48 balls 71 runs with the help of 11 boundaries and one 6. Rajib Rajbongshi (3-12) and Utpal Bhattacharjee (3-19) bowled two good spells for NFRSA. Earlier elected to bat NFRSA scored 146-2 in their 20 overs. R B Indrajit (68, 46B, 4x12) scored half century while Kinkar Medhi picked up 4-17.
The iugural function of the meet was held before this match which was attended by former cricketer Badal Thakur as chief guest and former intertiol umpire Niloy Dutta as guest of honour.
