NFRSC girls lift Javed Khan trophy

GUWAHATI, April 7: NFRSC clinched the Javed Khan Memorial Women's Inter District Cricket tourment title defeating Silchar in a one sided fil by 98 runs at Goalpara today.

Elected to bat, NFRSA piled up 146-9 in their stipulated 40 overs. Several Railway batswomen, after making good start, failed to convert it into big innings. Archa Dutta and Ritu Dhruv were the joint top scorers and both of them contributed 23 runs each. Rajni Lodhi, the most successful bowler for Silchar, picked up 3 wickets for 21 runs.

Silchar's batswomen, although made good performance in their earlier matches, but failed today and entire inning was collapsed on 48 thanks to a superb spell from Neeta Kumbang. Neeta bowled 8 overs in the game and picked up 5-13. Neeta was later adjudged best bowler award of the meet. Rajni Lodhi of Silchar received best bowler and best player award of the meet.
