NGO launches agro-based projects in Dhing for economic growth of farmers

GAON, May 12: An agro-based socio-economic NGO Rural Development Forum has successfully completed a project for augmenting productivity of leaf crops covering five villages of greater Dhing area in gaon district. The coorditor of the project said that the whole project glided for about three years and during these three years the organization measured and cultivated various crops in developed system in around thousands bighas of land and covered two thousand farmers’ family members. Through this, the voluntary organization tried to promote and uplift the economic status of the farmers and simultaneously maged also the growth of their household economy. According to him, the organization had measured 1,400 bighas land for paddy in rainy season and same way cultivated Bodo paddy in around 450 bighas through SRT system.

On the other hand, the organization cultivated potatoes in around 50 bighas of land. Moreover, the organization projected some farmers to cultivate peas in around 750 bighas of land and got tremendous outcome from almost all schemes that the organization projected in the area. The organization, however, distributed free fertilizers, seeds, medicines and other machinery instruments including 85 STW machines among the farmers of the area.
