NHPC signs MoU with Piramal Swasthya

LAKHIMPUR, Feb 18: The NHPC Ltd has signed an MoU with Piramal Swasthya Magement and Research Institute (PSMRI) for operating 20 mobile medical units (MMU) in Dhemaji, Lakhimpur, Sonitpur and Jorhat districts to provide health outreach services in rural and remote areas. Through this project, the NHPC, under the CSR & SD scheme aims to provide medical care for rural areas in four downstream districts of Subansiri river in Assam through deployment of a number of mobile medical units. The MMU are designed to offer health services as required by rural communities through individual prospective appraisals in each districts. The assesses health services will cover early detection of heart disease and diabetics, basic health care, obstetrics and others. The MoU was signed at Lower Subansiri Hydro Electric Project office by Rakesh, Executive Director of NHPC Ltd, Mahesh Deori, Head, Assam Operations, PSMRI in the presence of the top officials of the two organizations.
