Night city bus service from today

GUWAHATI, Sept 30: The Kamrup (M) district administration is going to start the night service of city buses in three main city bus routes from October 1.

The official sources said: "As per the decision taken in a meeting between the district administration office and all the transport authorities on September 21, the night city bus service is going to be started from October 1 covering a few city bus routes as route number 6, 8 and 28 on an experimental service. The flag-off ceremony will be held at Agriculture University of Khapara at 7.30 pm. The night city buses will start their services from 8 pm till mid-night everyday in these routes. The description of city bus route No. 1 is -- Khapara via Six-mile, Ganeshguri, Bhangagarh, Ulubari, Paltan Bazaar, Pan Bazar, Bharalumukh, Adabari, Jalukbari, Garshuk, ISBT, Lakhara Chariali, Basistha Chariali and Khapara and vice-versa. Route number two will cover from Jalukbari to Khapara via Adabari, Bharalumukh, Kachari, Uzan Bazar, Guwahati Club, Chandmari Flyover, Zoo Road, Ganeshguri, Six-Mile, Khapara and vice versa. Route number three will cover from Forest Gate to ISBT Betkuchi via Noonmati, Bamunimaidam, Chandmari, Guwahati Club, Uzan Bazar, Kachari, Bharalumukh, Adabari, Jalukbari and vice versa. Fifty per cent extra fare will be charge from the passengers."
