Night curfew, Section 144 clamped in Jorhat

JORHAT, July 17: Section 144 and night curfew have been imposed in Jorhat district from Tuesday. As per the order, pillion riding and wearing of coloured mask helmet has been banned in the district until further order. Security has been intensified in the district ahead of Independence Day and night curfew has been clamped in the border areas. Children below the age of 10 and persons above the age of 60 as well as defence personnel will be exempted. Checking and patrolling in all exit and entry points through roads and waterways have been intensified following inputs that some anti-social elements might take undue advantage to create confusion among people before I-Day, said sources.
