Nine sent to jail for attack on local youth in Udalguri

TANGLA, June 13: In the vehement attack on a local youth, Dipankar Deuri (35) by a mob on the suspicion of being a child-lifter and setting ablaze his Mahindra Scorpio vehicle in Udalguri, the police after registering a case vide 141/16 under IPC 143/341/336/325/307/435 and after grilling many suspects, forwarded nine persons to Udalguri district jail.
The nine people are Ajay Daimari, Detson Daimari, Atul Baglari, Dhaneswar Daimari, Dwijen Daimari, Sanjib Daimari, Rajib Daimari, Somdom Daimari and Birmal Daimari.
On the other hand, to maintain peace and law and order, the district administration organized a public meet at the Bishnu Rabha Krishti Sangha in Udalguri on Sunday. The meet was attended by members of various organizations, members of VDPs and village headmen. The meet, which was anchored by Sadha Hojai, Udalguri Deputy Commissioner, was also attended by district presidents of ABSU and AASU besides many social workers.
Rakesh Roushan, Superintendent of Police of Udalguri, exhorted the people to remain united against the anti-social elements. He also appealed to keep strict vigil so as to thwart such unfortute incidents.
