Nitish Das becomes champion in All Assam School Chess

GUWAHATI, May 4: Nitish Das claimed the title in All Assam School Chess 2015, recognized by All Assam Chess Association and organized at South Point School, Auditorium, Barsa Para, Guwahati by Guwahati Chess Association in co- operation with South Points School.

Nitish scored 8 points from 9 rounds and remain unbeaten throughout the tourment. Uddipta Kakati also scored 8 points from same number of rounds but declared second on the basis of tie-break score. Satabdajit S. Baruah, Kaustuv Lahiri, Arubh Gohain scored 7 points each got third, fourth and fifth position respectively on the basis of tie-break score. Uddipta Gogoi, Debanga Kalita, Neeraj P Hazarika, Dhrupad Kashyap, Amlan Mahanta, Abhilash Gautam and Divyanga Spondon Baruah scored 6.5 points each and placed sixth, seventh, eighth, ninth, tenth, eleventh and twelfth accordingly. Bhabishnu Pranti Bordoloi, Shahil Dey and Pallab Bhattacahrjee got thirteenth, fourteenth and fifteenth position by scoring 6 points each.

In under-13 category (Boys) Anurag Kalita scored 6 points to claim first position. Aarohan Bharadwaj and Dhrubajayoti Deka also scored 6 points but got second and third position on the basis of tie-break score. In Under-13 category (girls) Florisha Basumatary got first position by scoring 5 points. Piyallee Mitra, Anya Kalita got second and third position by scoring 4 points each. In Under-11 category Manthan Kashyap and Rishabh Singh both scored 6 points and first and second position on the basis of tie-break score. Prithwis Das scored 5.5 points and got third position.

In the girls section in this category Rishita Sinha claimed first position by scoring 5 points. Anoushka Priyom and Anchita Sharma also scored 5 points each but declared second and third on the basis of tie-break score.

In under 9 category wab Mukril Zadeed scord 6 points and got first position. Puskar Basak and Anubrat Barthakur got second and third position by scoring 5.5 points each. In under-9 girls category Pragyasha Goswami scored 5.5 points and and got first position. Alslesha Talukdar also scored 5.5 points but declared second on the basis of tie-break score. Adreeja Sinha scored 5 points to claim third position in thios category.

In under-7 category Mrinmoy Rajkhowa scored 4 points to claim the first position. Abhivan Sharma and Jaideep Kashyap also scored 5 points each and got second and third position respectively on the basis of tie-break score.
