NLMs urge people to lodge complaints through apps

MANGALDAI, May 4: The National Level Monitors (NLMs) who have been monitoring the implementation of different centrally sponsored public welfare schemes in Darrang district have urged upon the public to download apps in their smart phones and lodge complaints of their grievances with the help of these apps directly to the PMO or the Central government and witness the response to the complaints. The appeal was made by Deputy Director General (DDG) of Foreign Trade, Government of India SK Mahapatra, who is one of the NLMs for the district of Darrang, while addressing a farmers’ development workshop (Kisan Kalyan Karyashala) organized jointly by the District Agriculture Department, ATMA and the Paschim Mangaldai Development Block at Ambedkar Bhawan at Block Chowka near Mangaldai as a part of celebration of the Gram Swaraj Abhiyan recently. Explaining the vast change that has taken place during the regime of present BJP-led government in the public grievances redressal mechanism, the NLM claimed that not a single complaint has been left unattended. “We focus shift from the policy making to its effective execution in the grass root level where as we try to address each and every complaint received by us to the satisfaction of the complainants,” he stated.

Another NLM Asish Tripathy, CEO of Darrang Zila Parishad Adhar Bhuyan, media person Bhargab Kumar Das also delivered their speech and discussed various income generating avenues including producing ornamental fish, value added products from scientific processing of dried  fish, engagement in bee keeping, vermin compost and earth worm among others in addition to normal agriculture to double the income of the farmers. The workshop was attended by more than one hundred progressive farmers of the Bongalagarh Agriculture Subdivision under Darrang Agriculture Department. Similar kind of workshop have also been organized on the day in all the five other development blocks of the district.
