No aspiration to be party high command, says Mahanta

From a Correspondent
GAON, March 18: While the Asom Ga Parishad (AGP) is struggling for a revival in the State, party president and former Chief Minister Prafulla Kumar Mahanta said that he had no aspiration to be the party high command and in future too he would not seek the post. Rather, he wanted the reins of the party to go into the hands of the new generation so that the party could emerge powerful. While addressing a press conference at his residence in gaon town on Wednesday, Mahanta said that party members should work together to strengthen the party so that it could win the support and confidence of the people. “I do not want to be party high command. Rather I am ready to sacrifice for the greater interest of the party,” said Mahanta. Mahanta, however, refused to comment on his conflict with Atul Bora for the post of party president.
