No involvement in ILP agitations: CSWO

SHILLONG, Feb 26: The Civil Society Women Organisation (CSWO) led by Irene Hujon as President on Sunday clarified that the organization was in no way involved in the ILP agitations. “If Agnes Kharshiing was part of the agitations, she did so without the knowledge of the organization and by using the me CSWO, therefore she should be held accountable. Kharshiing who is still illegally claiming to be President of the said organization is contesting the case related to the Damage Suit,” Hujon said.

She said the organization in its letter dated November 6, 2013 addressed to the Deputy Commissioner, East Khasi Hills, copy of which was also submitted to the Commissioner and Secretary, Political Department, Government of Meghalaya had informed that the organization was in no way involved in ILP agitations. According to her, the public and government should be wary of this person (Kharshiing) who is illegally using the me of CSWO because the CSWO Central Body will in no way take responsibility for any of her actions be it for defaming any person or persons, interference in all matters or even money dealings, etc.

Earlier, Hujon, along with members of different Units and Circles in the entire state, expressed disgust over the misuse of the organisation’s me and misleading of the general public by Kharshiing.
