'NOIW leading LIC and its workers on right path'

SILCHAR, June 26: “It is organization like tiol Organization of Insurance Workers (NOIW) to which Silchar Division Insurance Workers’ Organization (SDIWO) which alone can infuse the sense of patriotism and tiolism not only among its members but people in general to contribute towards the building of a happy and prosperous country”, Dilip Kumar Paul, Deputy Speaker of Assam Assembly, said this while addressing the 31st annual general conference of the Silchar unit as the guest of honour in the conference hall of Rajiv Bhawan here today. He appreciated the sustained efforts of SDIWO for the last three decades in this direction.

The Deputy Speaker pointed out in order to achieve the set goal of LIC, it is the organization working on the thoughts and ideas of tiolism and patriotism that alone can meet its ethos. He acknowledged how NOIW has made its mark in the growth and expansion of LIC in north east and the Silchar division has played its distinct role from which, he hoped, this division would not distract.

Dr. Sankar Bhattacharjee, the chief speaker on the occasion, in his most appealing and thought-provoking speech hit out at the secessionist and anti tiol forces with oblique reference to the recent JNU imbroglio involving a section of the so called intellectuals and indoctrited students for creating all the hue and cry over the question of tiolism and advocating freedom for those who have posed a serious threat to the integrity and solidarity of the country. It is tiolist-oriented organizations with their dedication and commitment to the greater cause of the tion which can foil the evil design and conspiracy of the disruptive elements.

In his engrossing oration, Dr. Bhattacharjee touched upon the important issues of education for character building, socio-economic ideals to take the society on the right path. He expressed his satisfaction at the fact that the present Prime Minister of India rendra Modi has been fighting ever since he assumed the great responsibility to free the tion from the poisonous and vicious coil of corruptions and take the tion to the height of glory. He was confident in coming years, the country would regain the place of dignity and emerge as a powerful tion in the world. He was all praise for the Organization to lead the employees with the high sense of belongingness to the society and the tion.

At the outset, Mas Bhattacharjee, president of the function, welcomed the distinguished assembly. Prab Dutta, secretary, gave a graphic account of the various activities of the Silchar division which covers Barak Valley, Tripura, Mizoram and Manipur and the present status of NOIW and LIC. Dutta did not miss to mention the resolutions adopted at the conference which included opposition to proposed transfer of employees, cap on the appointment in third and fourth grade employees and the problems arising thereof. Vote of thanks was offered by Dilip Baishya and the entire function was ably conducted by Shantanu Sen, assistant secretary.
