Noodles still available in Manipur

IMPHAL JUNE 20: Though Nestle’s Maggi noodle is out of market, other brands are still on sale in Manipur. It needs to be mentioned that, there is no formal order to ban the sale of Maggi in the state. However, following adverse publicity in the media people have stopped buying it.

Besides some organizations have imposed a ban on sale of Maggi in the state and announced that any shopkeeper found selling it will be fined Rs 5000.

Meanwhile, taking advantage of the adverse publicity some other companies have launched a publicity blitzkrieg, claiming that their products are safe. The report that most of these noodles are also under the scanner has not been publicized by the Manipur government for unexplained reasons.

It needs to be mentioned here that the gray market of medicines and other edible items from South Asian countries continues ubated in the state. Most of these items are unbranded and there is no mandatory information like the me of the manufacturing companies, ingredients etc. putting the lives of thousands at stake.
