Noted Educationist Satyaranjan Dutta Passes Away

GAURISAGAR: Satyaranjan Dutta, noted educationist, founder assistant teacher of Khanakhokora High School and a resident of Dikhowmukh Dulia village in Sivasagar district, passed away on Tuesday morning at his residence due to old-age ailment. He was 76. Dutta started his career as founder assistant teacher of Khanakhokora High School while he was studying BA at JB College, Jorhat. He devoted 20 years without pay in the school and got superannuation in 1998. He was an active AGP worker in Amguri LAC. Besides, he was associated with various local organizations.

His demise was widely mourned in Dikhowmukh and Gaurisagar. He leaves behind his wife, two sons, including journalist Rajib Dutta, and a daughter. Amguri MLA Prodip Hazarika, MP Kamakhya Prasad Tassa, and Angkita Dutta, vice-president of Assam Pradesh Youth Congress Committee, have condoled his demise.
