Noted litterateur Troilokya Bhattacharya remembered

Tezpur, Feb 2: Noted litterateur and novelist Troilokya Bhattacharya was remembered in a brief function held on Wednesday on his fourth death anniversary at Tezpur Sahitya Sabha Bhavan.

The noted litterateur during his lifetime contributed a lot to Assamese literature by writing a number of novels and short stories including Agnigarat Agni Sn, Khashi Pator Puthi, Soraidew, Uttorakanda, Kalidasor Atma Kotha, Ajak Juki Porua, Asthi Bhagirothi Tire, Kathgorat Khkuntola, Priotoma Matshagondha, Sa aru Puharat Sahityarathi Bejbaruah and Anuprabekhor Sorkar aru Budhijibir Bhumika.

Registrar of Tezpur University, Dr. Biren Das in his speech urged the Assam Publication Board to publish the creations of the noted litterateur.  

Among other dignitaries, noted lawyer and president of Mahadev Unit Sahitya Sabha, Basudev Sarma and son of the litterateur, Pallab Bhattacharya were also present in the programme. He also spoke on the unmatched talents of the litterateur and urged the Assam Publication Board to take the responsibility of publication of the creations of the litterateur. He also appreciated Pallab Bhattacharya for taking initiative in publishing the novels and short stories written by Troilukya Bahttacharya. The event was held under the aegis of the president of Tezpur Sahitya Sabha and conducted by senior jourlist Pankaj Baruah.
