Noted Tai scholar passes away

MARGHERITA, June 28: Noted Tai scholar  Green Mohung Baruah breathed his last on Tuesday at his residence in Margherita. He was suffering from old-age ailments. He was 91. Green Mohung Baruah was associated with many organizations of Margherita and wrote six books on Tai culture and Tai people of Assam. Margherita MLA Bhaskar Sharma has condoled his demise. All Tai Ahom Students’ Association central committee secretary Chao Debakanta Gogoi and assistant secretary Chao Jayanto Neog have also condoled the demise of the Tai scholar.
