NPP delegation visits Garobadha village

SHILLONG, Feb 2: The tiol People’s Party (NPP) led by James K Sangma, MLA along with Subir Marak and other Party functiories visited Garobadha village recently in view of the attacks on the villagers that took place on the 24th of January last month.

The Delegation visited the house of Tapan Das who along with his entire family had been attacked with sharp weapons resulting in grievous injuries. The Delegation further met the villagers who informed them about the sequence of events and the subsequent lack of response from the Police, the Local MLA and the Health Department. The NPP also demands for immediate up gradation of the Garobadha Police Station from an Investigation Centre to a fully fledged Tha with adequate personnel. The NPP has also requested MeECL and the Power Department to change the timings of the Load shedding which was also a key factor in the attacks.
