NRC Assam row: Mamata Banerjee’s effigy burnt at Sivasagar

JOYSAGAR: To oppose the alleged instigating comments made by West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee regarding the NRC update process in Assam, the Brihattar Axomiya Yuba Mancha (BAYM) Sivasagar District Committee staged a protest in Dolmukh Chariali of the town on Saturday evening.

The agitators also burnt her effigy. Later the organization lodged an FIR against the Trinamool Congress (TMC) and party chief Mamata Banerjee in Sivasagar Sadar Police Station.
