Guwahati: With the date of NRC Final Draft Publication drawing closer, security arrangements have been beefed up across the state to avoid any incident of violence from the irked section.
Although the capital city Guwahati has had very few incidents of mob violence, there are certain areas in the city where possible chances of a rampage do exist.
As such, security agencies have identified 16 out of the 78 Nagrik Seva Kendras (NSK s) as very sensitives zones, 25 as sensitive ones and 41 as competitively sensitive zones.
Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) officials have been deployed at the NRC headquarters located at Bhangagarh.
All the NSKs are being guarded by home guards and police personnel.
The police station officers have been instructed to keep a sharp watch on the potential trouble mongers.
Police have teamed up with Nagorik Committees and Village Defence groups for night patrol rounds. With NRC Final Draft Publication date approaching, speculations of violent spurts are all around. The state security agencies are thereby taking concrete steps to avoid any untoward incident.
