NRC Legacy Data available online in Darrang

MANGALDAI, March 28:  In the run-up to the update of NRC, in Darrang district the team associated with this historic process achieved a milestone on Friday when the relevant legacy data for the citizens of the district was successfully uploaded online for the public through functioning of NRC Seva Kendras (NSK). Darrang Deputy Commissioner Manoj Kumar ceremonially iugurated the Seva Kendra set up in the premises of Mangaldai Municipal Board.

Eminent sportsperson siruddin Ahmed, a resident of Ward no-2 of Mangaldai town was delighted when he found the mes of his forefathers in the online legacy data at the click of a button. Deputy Commissioner handed him over the print out of the data duly counter signed by the Local Registrar of Citizenship Registration (LRCR) in the Seva Kendra. Media person Hemanta Kumar Barua, Dulal Kumar Deka, Dharma Kanta Barua were also delighted to receive their legacy data from the NSK on the iugural day.

The Deputy Commissioner in his iugural speech urged the people of the district to avail the services of 80 such technically well equipped Seva Kendras for necessary verification and collection of legacy data. Superintendent of Police Vivek Raj Singh, Additiol Deputy Commissioners Dr Bijoya Chowdhury, Bashree th and Razvee Hussain, Project Director of Darrang DRDA Bibhash Mudi, Circle Officer of Mangaldai Revenue Circle, yan Pathak also attended the iugural function.

A public awareness meeting in the municipal auditorium was followed by the iugural function where senior administrative officials including Additiol Deputy Commissioners Dr Bijoya Choudhury and Banshri th, Bibhas Modi , PD, DRDA, yan Kr Pathak , Circle Officer, Mangaldai Revenue Circle outlined the role of the NSKs and different aspects of NRC updation.
