NRC Objections Intentional: Former Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi

GUWAHATI: Former Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi on Tuesday alleged that some forces had filed objections against inclusion of names of certain persons in the complete draft NRC with the intention to harass them. Addressing a press meet at Rajiv Bhawan here on Tuesday, he said that the government must find out such unscrupulous people and arrest them. Tarun Gogoi said even though the Supreme Court is monitoring the NRC update exercise, all other related works are being executed by government officials and employees. “Why there are so many objections? Was not the draft NRC error free?” he questioned. Gogoi also criticized the Sarbananda Sonowal government for the poor condition of roads and embankments in the State.
