NRHM launches Albendazole tablets in Cachar

Silchar, March 7: tiol Rural Health Mission has launched Albendazole Tablets, the ante-warm dose in the district recently as part of its state wide drive. It was launched to also mark the tiol De-warming Day,. In this regard, a programme was held at Tarapur Girls ME School, Chandmari.

 Health expert under NRHM, Dr Suman Choudhury explained about the benefits of Albendazole Tablets to the students on the day, where more than 200 students were present. Talking to the children, he said that the tablet will reduce the attack of the warms but students should maintain hygiene and cleanliness at home to avoid various diseases and earth-worms. He advised the teachers to look after the hygienic conditions of the children in a regular basis before serving the mid-day meal to them.  Mentioning the WHO’s report which says that more than 25% of students belonging to primary level are effected by earth-worms in India, Dr Joydip Debbarman said that this is a matter of concern for the future of the students. The government is providing the medicine free of cost for students, which is a good step and it will help to improve the health scerio, he added.  Sudip Jyoti Das from Civil Hospital, head mistress of the school, Anita Sinha, co-orditor of NRHM, Assam, Iqbal Bahar Laskar and the other teachers of the school were also present on that day.
