NRL to host Numaligarh Marathon 2016

Golaghat, Feb 1: To spread awareness on leading a hale and healthy life and to inspire people of the region to remain vigorous, energetic and healthy, Numaligarh Refinery Limited (NRL) will organize a marathon for the first time. The theme run will be held on February 21, said general mager Mash Rai Baruah at a press conference at NRL Township Community Hall on Monday. The senior official of the refinery said that Numaligarh Marathon will be a tiol-level event where total route of 10 kilometres will be covered. On February 21 the marathon will start from Numaligarh High School Tiniali, Golaghat and will finish at NRL Township Playground. The event will be flagged off at 6:30 am. There will be three categories in the event. In the first category a 3-km run will be held with the theme ‘Run for Fun’, in the second category a 5-km run with the theme ‘Dream Run’ will be held and the theme for the third category run of 10 km will be ‘Endurance Run’. The Numaligarh Marathon will have prize money for each category and also there will be separate prizes for male and female participants. Arjun Bhogeswar Baruah, hockey champions  MM Somaya , Mir Ranjan Negi, veteran table tennis players Kamlesh Mehta and Molisha Baruah, body builder Mahadev Deka along with several other distinguished persolities will attend the grand event.
