Itagar, April 2: The Khonsa Battalion of Assam Rifles during an operation on March 31 apprehended an over ground worker (OGW) of NSCN (IM) from Lazu town in the district. The worker, identified as li met was found in possession of extortion notes and approximately 100 grams opium. This apprehension has seemingly turned out to be a setback to the extortion activities being carried out by the worker in the area and proved to be a relief for the local population, an official release said here today.
