NSCN (K) militant apprehended

TINSUKIA, Feb 15: Close on the heels of escalated militant activities along the Assam-Aruchal border in Tinsukia district, particularly of Aruchal Pradesh-based NSCN (IM) and K, Tinsukia police, in yet another counter-insurgency operation, apprehended an NSCN (K) militant from Burma camp near Ledo on Wednesday.

The operation team was led by Pratap Gogoi i/c Ledo PS and accompanied by SI Bholath Sonowal and other staff of Ledo police station. The apprehended militant has been identified as Kangkam Haseng of Phinbiro 1 Changlang (AP) and he was appointed by Makam Nimo area commander, informed Mugdha Jyoti Dev Mahanta, Superintendent of Police of Tinsukia.

Recently, another Myanmar-trained NSCN(IM) militant Nokme Hakun was bbed from Ledo.
