NSCN (K) over ground worker nabbed

Dibrugarh, June 9: Based on intelligence input received, a joint operation was launched by Dibrugarh Army Camp, Territorial Army and Police at Kathalguri and Tingkhong recently, and an alleged over ground worker of NSCN (K) was apprehended near Kathalguri.

The accused has been identified as Himant Borah, a 31-year old resident of Saru Sewaguri, Golaghat. A .22 mm pistol and one magazine with two live rounds were recovered from Borah. As per sources, the accused was handed over to Duliajan Police Station after investigation and medical check-up, where an FIR was lodged. The operation, according to sources, was part of the ongoing crackdown of the security forces against the militants active in Upper Assam.
