NSCN (R) cadre arrested

Silchar, May 22: A NSCN (R) cadre, Highnamthang Jimmy, has been arrested by 37 Assam Rifles personnel from Harinagar Market, under Joypur police station on Saturday. The Assam Rifles personnel arrested the 29 year old person, a resident of Mahur in Dima Hasao district. He was handed him over to Joypur police station on Sunday. 8 fresh and unused bullets and a pistol have been recovered from his possession. His intention was to sell the pistol. Later, he was produced before the sub divisional judicial magistrate court at Lakhipur. The courted has sent him to 10 days remand. SDPO Gaurav Kumar Aggarwal along with Joypur police station is interrogating him.
