NSCN (R) cadre held in Changlang

ITAGAR, June 24: Security forces apprehended a NSCN (R) cadre from Saching village in Changlang district of Aruchal Pradesh.

The personnel of Assam Rifles acting on intelligence inputs, apprehended the self-styled Private Ngeungthung Techi (28 years) from the village during wee hours on Wednesday last, an official report informed here today.

A 0.22 bore Chinese pistol with magazine and three live rounds were recovered from his possession.

The cadre had carried out extortion in Changlang and Manmao areas. The apprehended rebel was handed over to the Changlang police station and a case has been registered against him and further investigation launched, the report added.
