NTPC felicitates women under CSR scheme

KOKRAJHAR, January 25: Under the scheme of CSR, Bongaigaon Thermal Power Project (Bg.TPP) on Monday felicitated 16 participants of the beautician training and three for the stitching and tailoring course. This was informed by the Assistant Public Relation Officer Priyanka Bhuyan.

Sources said the 45-day training on beautician course and 90 days training for stitching and tailoring course was imparted to the women of the local community by the Bardwi Shikla Ladies Club in collaboration with SEWA, Mirzapur. The three participants who performed exceedingly well in the exam conducted for the stitching and tailoring course were each given a sewing machine. All the 16 participants of the beautician course were felicitated with a beauty kit. Utpal Chakrabarti, GGM, NTPC Bongaigaon, ndini Chakrabarti, the President of Bardwi Shikla Ladies Club along with other senior officials and office bearers of Bardwi Shikla Ladies Club were present on the occasion.

Chakrabarti stated that such endeavour will help to better empower the women of the community and help them to become self-dependent. The felicitation was today organized on the second day of the Anda Mela at NTPC Bongaigaon.
