Numaligarh Refinery’s support to Dibrugarh Municipal Board for dealing with the overflowing drains

Dibrugarh: Dibrugarh Municipal Board (DMB), on account of the active support of the district administration and Public Health Engineering Department, seems to be bracing up to fight the menace of overflowing drains this coming rainy season.

A press communiqué stated that Numaligarh Refinery, as part of its Corporate Responsibility, had provided certain important items like containers, devices and machinery that could help DMB and the town committees manage both solid and liquid waste far more effectively within the town area and in other adjoining places, including Moran, Naharkatia, Chabua and Namrup. The incoming stock, whose value is more than a crore of rupees, includes dustbin, Bolero mounted drain cleaning machine and Automatic Tipper Van. With such things at its disposal, one expects DMB to be able to stave off artificial floods during monsoons that happen due to all kinds of waste clogging the drains.
