Oatah cast members overwhelmed by film's success

SHILLONG, May 18: After receiving overwhelming response from the audience for the award winning film, the cast members of Oatah today informed that they are looking forward to extend the show in theaters in the city. Melvin Mukhim, lead actor of the movie while speaking with newsmen said, “We are planning to extend the screening of the film especially after seeing that the theaters were packed with moviegoers which encouraged us.” Asked about the ticket rates of Khasi and Jaintia films, he said it is not declared officially but the ticket rates of all Khasi and Jaintia films will be Rs 80, Rs 50 and Rs 40. He further said that the title “Oatah” comes from a tive American language meaning “daughter of the earth.” “The character I play in the film was very difficult and challenging. However, this is the best character I have played so far,” Mukhim said. Sweety Jane Pala, female lead of the movie, said that it was a challenge for her since she portrayed the character of a gang-rape victim.
