Hira Nath Bhattacharyya

Hira Nath Bhattacharyya, renowned educationist and former Principal of Tinsukia College, passed away at his Bordoloi Nagar residence Tinsukia due to old-age ailment on March 17. He was 93.

An able administrator, Bhattacharyya served Tinsukia College as Principal from 1971 to1986. His mortal remains were brought to Tinsukia College where former teachers, faculty and students paid rich floral tribute. Several institutions and organizations like Women’s College, Saumarjyoti Vidyalaya, Bisnujyoti Sanskrit Sangha and Chaliha-Bordoloi Nagar Bashinda Santha condoled his demise. He leaves behind three sons and grandchildren, besides a host of relatives and well-wishers. His wife had predeceased him.
