SILCHAR, Jan 24: Madhuri Pandey, a resident of Binkandie Ghat under Lakhipur subdivision, Cachar passed away at her residence on January 7. She died of old age and was 68. Pandey is survived by her husband Karunendro Prasad Pandey, proprietor of Pandey Medial Stores in Binkandie Ghat, and three sons, daughter-in-laws, grandchildren and innumerable admirers.

Apart from her family members and relatives, people from different walks of life offered their tributes and prayed to the Almighty for resting her soul in peace in heaven.

 Madhuri Pandey was a firm believer in God and was always active for the welfare of the society. She was a very popular figure and was loved by all section of people in her locality. After knowing of her untimely passing away, a large number of people of the locality had assembled both at her residence as well as at the cremation ground at Binkandie Ghat to pay their last respect to the departed soul.
