Hitesh Gogoi

GAURISAGAR, May 6: Hitesh Gogoi, a resident of Jhanji Jamuguri Balamia village, former Upper Division Assistant (UDA) of Jhanji Hem th Sarmah College, progressive farmer and activist of Assam agitation passed away this morning.
He was 68. He was undergoing treatment at Aditya Nurshing Home, Dibrugarh. His body was brought home from Dibrugarh where various organizations and individuals paid their last respect. Born on March 1, in 1948 he did his schooling from Jhanji High School. He was the first batch student of Jhanji HNS College established in 1964. After passing P.U (Arts) from the college he served did apprentice in Amguri Tea Company for a period of one year. Later he joined as a LDA in Dikom TE under ABITA for three months. He joined as a LDA in Jhanji HNS College and upgraded to UDA in 1999. He got superannuation on February 28, 2007. His demise has cast a pall of gloom in entire Jhanji area. He is survived by his wife, three sons and a host of relatives.
