DIGBOI Aug 28: The Assam Petroleum Mazdoor Union (APMU) has decided to withdraw its indefinite strike from Wednesday following an assurance from the Additional Chief Secretary, Home, and Political, on solving their problems. Such a decision came on the second day of the agitation on Tuesday. The union has been demanding the Assam government and authority concerned to curb the menace of alleged extortion by ‘Golai Association’ from drivers and owners of tankers near the entry point of the terminal.
