One-act play competition at Golaghat

GOLAGHAT, Feb 7: The Cine Theatrical Society of Golaghat Commerce College is going organize an ‘All Assam One-Act Play’ competition in the fond memory of Ra Tamuly, the former vice-principal of the college and a renowned film comedian of Assam, on June 24-26 on the college premises.

In this regard, a meeting was held recently where several renowned theatre persolities of the district participated. An organizing committee was also formed with the principal, Dr Jatindrath Saikia as the president and Assistant Professors Bhaskar Kakoty and Meghali Saikia as joint secretaries at the meeting.

Several renowned theatre persolities of the district, including eminent film director and dramatist Dinesh Gogoi, theatre persolities Poran Borthakur, Sarbanda Borbora, Prafulla Saikia, Sunil Rajguru, Dhruba Kataky, Gautam Dutta as well as former students of the college Durga Pd Jaiswal, Pradip Bakliwal were also present in the meeting. Dr Rajib Lochan Bora moderated the meeting. Rs 1,20,000 has been announced as the total prize money for the competition. The organizing committee has requested the interested teams across the State to contact it for participation in the competition on or before February 29.
