One dies in road mishap, another injured

DULIAJAN, February 22: A road accident took place on Monday morning in which one person died on the spot and another sustained injuries.

A motorcycle and a truck collided near Pipe Bridge at Madhapur under Duliajan police station and the motorcyclist died on the spot and another person on the bike was seriously injured.  The deceased has been identified as Dipankar Borah (25), son of Bhonda Borah, resident of harkatia Kaliapani and the injured has been identified as Jeet Borah (22), son of Bipul Borah, resident of same village.

According to sources, Dipankar and Jeet were coming from harkatia on the motorcycle bearing no. AS06-H-4562.   Near the Pipe Bridge of Madhapur, a truck (NL01-7859) coming from the oppdirection hit the bike and Dipankar died on the spot.

Duliajan police immediately admitted Jeet Borah to OIL hospital for primary treatment. After the incident, the driver of the truck fled. Police have seized the truck.
