One dies of encephalitis

Jorhat, February 16:  A 16-year girl identified as Phulkanti Kumari (16), a resident of  Royal Road in Jorhat, died of encephalitis at Jorhat Medical College and Hospital on Tuesday, said Dr Mubidor Rahman, Joint Director of Health Services,  Jorhat.
When she was admitted, she was tested positive with Acute Encephalitis Syndrome and her treatment going on but suddenly her health deteriorated and she passed away early Tuesday morning, said Dr Rahman.
