One dies of Japanese Encephalitis

JOYSAGAR, July 17: Another person suffering from Japanese Encephalitis (JE) died in Sivasagar district on Monday. Jiten Mahan (57) of Tengapukhuri village under Simaluguri PS in Sivasagar district was undergoing treatment for the last two weeks and finally he breathed his last. He leaves behind his wife, two sons and two daughters and a host of relatives. With this, the toll of JE victims in Sivasagar district this monsoon season has gone up to 16, Health Department sources revealed. Another 26 JE patients are still undergoing treatment in various government hospitals, sources added.
