Silchar, April 23: A 19 year old truck handyman identified as Dinesh Kumar Singh from Husiarpur district in Punjab drowned in Chiri river at Fulertal recently. He came here as a handyman of truck bearing No PB 07 AS 4229 which was being driven by Ajay Kumar Singh. Dinesh went for a bath in the river in the late afternoon of that fateful day. An FIR was lodged at Lakhipur Police Station by the driver. The following day, IPS S J Bora, officer in-charge Inspector Anwar Hussain Choudhury, ASI Fariz Uddin Laskar along with SDRF and fire brigade personnel went to recover the body. But all their efforts went in vain. They searched for around 4 hours without any success. Inspector Anwar Hussain Choudhury has asked all VDP members and local residents to report about the body if they sight one.
