GUWAHATI, Nov 7: “To bring a change to our society, one has to be brave with proper education and to continue the fight against the superstitions in our society,” said activist Birubala Rabha in the programme ‘Mukto Akax Mukto Kontho’ in the ongoing North East Book Fair at Chandmari of the city today. Rabha said, “We have seen that many women have not succeeded in taking steps against the superstitions, and so could not help other women, who need the help. Educating a women make 10 other persons educated in future.” Rabha recalled when the society was full of superstitions and how she continued the works of Mission Birubala since 2011 with lots of problems and hurdles. The women related face to face programme was also attended by poet Mira Thakur, writer Banti Sensuwa and others. Veteran jourlist Kak Sen Deka released the souvenir of book fair ‘Grantham’ at a programme at the book fair today. Deka in his speech said, “The society is changing a lot these days and at many times, we could not match with the change and became stable, which should not be continued."
